Treasury of Catholic Prayers

In the name of the Father,

and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;

Thy kingdom come;

Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women

and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Glory be to the Father,

and to the Son,

and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning,

is now, and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation (bowing) He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom will have no end.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.  I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen

I confess to almighty God,

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have sinned through my own fault in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done,

and in what I have failed to do;

and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin,

all the angels and saints,

and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. I detest all my sins because of your just punishments, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the occasions of sin. Amen.

Glory to God in the highest,

and peace to his people on earth.

Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father,

we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory.

Lord Jesus Christ, only son of the Father,

Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:

have mercy on us;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father:

receive our prayer.

For You alone are the Holy One,

You alone are the Lord,

You alone are the Most High,

Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,

in the glory of God the Father. Amen

O my God, because you are infinite goodness and worthy of infinite love, I love you with my whole heart above all things, and for love of you I love my neighbor as myself. Amen.

O my God, who are infallible Truth and can neither deceive nor be deceived, I firmly believe all that you have revealed and propose to my belief though your holy Church, because you have revealed it. I believe that you are one in nature and three in Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that you are the Creator of all things and that you reward the just for all eternity in heaven and punish the wicked for all eternity in hell. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God made man, that he suffered and died for my sins and rose from the dead in glory, and that it is only in him through the Holy Spirit that eternal life is given to us. I believe in all that your holy Church believes. I thank you for having called me to the true faith, and I propose that with the help of your grace I will live and die in this holy faith. Amen.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand,

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to Your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell among Your people.

Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation’s leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.

Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land, grant us the courage to reject the "culture of death." Lead us into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Angel of God,

my guardian dear,

to whom God's love commits me here,

ever this day,

be at my side,

to light and guard,

to rule and guide.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

O my God, I thank You for having preserved me today and for having given me so many blessings and graces. I renew my dedication to You and ask Your pardon for all my sins.

Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake;

watch over us as we sleep,

that awake we may keep watch with Christ,

Lord, now let Your servant go in peace;

according to Your word:

which You have prepared in the presence of all

peoples: a light for revelation to the Gentiles

and for glory to Your people Israel. (Luke 2:29–32)

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day

in union with the holy Sacrifice of the Mass

throughout the world.

I offer them for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart:

the salvation of souls, reparation for sin,

the reunion of all Christians.

I offer them for the intentions of our bishops

and of all apostles of prayer -- in particular,

for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.

Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel,

defend us in battle.

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,

and do thou,

Oh Prince of the Heavenly Host,

by the divine power of God,

cast into hell Satan,

and all the evil spirits,

who prowl around the world

seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Bless us, O Lord,

and these Thy gifts,

which we are about to receive from Thy bounty,

through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

We give you thanks,

Almighty God for all your benefits.

And may the souls of the faithful departed

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.

O Lord, only you can count all the blessings of my life. I give you thanks for the gifts of memory and expectation, for pleasure that comforts and pain that brings needed change, for deep meanings revealed and for that which remains unknown because I may not be able to accept it, for variety and difference in my world, for melody and silence, for all my senses…and above all for the overpowering feeling that somehow I am loved and accepted by You and that nothing can separate me from that Love. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

God, grant me the courage to change the things I can change,

the serenity to accept those I cannot change,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

But God, grant me the courage not to give up on what I think is right,

even though I think it is hopeless.

Amen.

I abandon myself into your hands;

do with me what you will.

Whatever you may do, I thank you:

I am ready for all, I accept all.

Let only your will be done in me,

and in all your creatures -

I wish no more than this, O Lord.

Into your hands I commend my soul:

I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,

for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,

to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,

and with boundless confidence,

for you are my Father.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord, Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears attend to the voice of my supplication.

If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt, Lord, who could survive? But there is forgiveness in you, and we revere you for it.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with Him is plenteous redemption. And He will redeem Israel from all iniquities.

Eternal rest grant unto N., O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon(him, her, them). May (he, she, they) rest in peace. Amen.

O Lord, hear my prayer. And let my cry come to you.

O God, creator and redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of your departed servants the forgiveness of all their sins.

Through my prayer, may they obtain the pardon they have always desired. Amen
